Childcare Options For Our Greatest Treasures

5th April 2010 by Babies No Comments

There are many alternatives available across our country for the care of that next generation. With a little research you will find the right person or facility to safeguard your child.

Let me start with the Nanny option. With this alternative your child/children are able to spend their day in the comfortable surroundings of their own home while still experiencing the learning opportunities that exist in an actual daycare environment. Some of these learning experiences, however, may look a little different. The Nanny may provide them in the form of everyday activities. A walk around the block, for example, turns into an opportunity to learn about nature while your little treasure picks up leaves, rocks, or pine cones to display at home. Using colored chalk to write on the sidewalk is their chance to practice writing letters and numbers. Best of all, when it's time for a nap they just settle into their own beds. This choice allows your child to form a strong bond with their siblings before going off to school to develop future relationships there.

Another choice you have is to place your child with one of the many daycares that provide a Preschool Learning Center. A child’s world is full of such wonder and opportunities for discovery. Look for a facility or center that values your child's individuality and works with his/her personal needs. Make sure they are not only incorporating many diverse learning opportunities but also time to just play and have fun with all the other children. Your little one will feel safe and valued in this envionment.

A third alternative is to find regular daycare in someone’s home. A truly qualified provider can offer just as many learning opportunities as a center. One advantage to this in-home care is that there are generally many fewer children and more chance for individualized attention. Many times this individual provider will give you a better peek into the kind of day your child had, providing you with a schedule of their activities and even what they had for lunch.

The goal of all these providers, whether in a formal or informal setting, is for your son/daughter to be happy and successful.
