Cloth nappies are an excellent choice for your babies. There are many nappies that require folding, such as prefolds and flats. These types of nappies are very economical, and very simple to use once you have the hang of folding cloth nappies. There are several easy and efficient folds that you can use quickly once your baby has become too wiggly for complicated folds, or to use when you are too busy to fold your prefolds and flats ahead of time.

The Jelly Roll

The jelly roll fold is very easy to do. Basically, what you have to do is place the prefold beneath your child’s bottom, after that turn over the edges inside so as to a side hem is created. Turn over the edges of the cloth nappy till it completely fits your little one, afterward fasten it like the usual. If you have a tiny baby, then you may find that folding the nappy inward until it is under the belly button provides a better fit.

Another simple solution to folding cloth nappies is to lay your nappy under the baby, then fold the sides of the prefold in to create a central panel. Doing this will enhance the capacity of the cloth nappy to absorb wetness and provide superior fit.If you want to make a neat cloth nappy , tuck the nappy inward to level the top part or to place it under the navel.

The Bikini Twist and The Diamond Shape Fold

Another technique of tucking cloth nappies is to put it beneath your child’s bottom and turn the cloth nappy to form a bulge in the area where it is necessary. Then, secure as normal. If you use flats, then you will want to fold the nappy into a rectangle before using the bikini fold. The most popular fold for terry flats, and other styles of flats, is the kite fold.

Doing a kite fold is easy once you have tried it a few times, so do it as soon as you have gotten it out of the dryer or off the hanger. To fold the cloth nappy in a diamond form, you must put the nappy on a smooth plane. Afterward, you must tuck in the edges and fold the upper corner of the nappy over the edges. Once you have tucked the upper edges down, you must  fold the bottom part allowing it to touch the upper edge. Now you have just made a cloth nappy which can be fastened  through tucking the three edges .

Fast and Easy Folds

Tucking cloth nappies requires a bit of practice so before having your baby try folding nappies with a doll or practice tucking flats in advance. If you think the idea is not convenient, then just tuck your prefolds in three parts and place them inside the nappy case to make them handy.Another way of doing this is by tucking the nappies into rectangular shape and put them in water-resistant case so you will have ready to use folds.
