Things You Should Know Before Giving Birth

2nd November 2011 by Babies No Comments

Motherhood is a lifetime career and giving birth to your bundle of joy does not end your responsibility but actually signals the start of your motherhood career.  Though they might someday leave the nest, you will still be responsible for them, although society tells you otherwise.  This is the essence of motherhood, though such is oftentimes misunderstood.  Being a mother requires constant love and patience and at other times, firm admonition.

Being a mother does not only require you to only love and care, but also to temper it with reproaches when needed.  Your relationship with your baby is sacred as you have been entrusted by God Himself for the care and rearing of your little one.  This is the same reason why you should try as much to be the best mother that you can be.  Learning new things and working out previous mistakes so you will have something good to pass on to your child are the keys to success in motherhood.

A mother’s physical condition after giving birth was designed by God specifically to provide natural method of giving nutrition to her offspring.  Breastmilk is a dietary sustenance which is perfect and complete for the nutritional needs of your baby.  Even if advertisements tell you that their infant formula is the best, no other milk can surpass or even equal the essential vitamins and minerals that can be found in breastmilk.  Experts would tell you that after years of research, they have found that breastfed babies are less likely to suffer from colic.

Babies that are breastfed develop an emotional bond with their mother, thus they grow more close.  They are also less likely to get sick and grow up more intelligent than formula-fed babies.  It has been also known that mothers who have once suffered from certain sickness and have developed immunity against it, pass on this immunity to their breastmilk which is then ingested by the baby making him immune from the same sickness his mother once had.  Breastfed babies also sleep well and do not fuss as often.

Always keep your baby safe.  Make sure that your baby’s things are free from tiny parts which your baby could ingest possibly causing them to choke.  When shopping in a baby depot for baby carriers, look at the fabric used.  Are the stitching free from lose threads to which you baby’s fingers might be caught in?  Foreseeing danger is the best means to avoid it.  If you are a mother, it is okay to be a safety worrier.
