Things You Need To Know If You Are A First Time Mother
2nd January 2010 by Babies No CommentsWhen you become a mother for the very first time it can be one of the most scary and rewarding things all at the same time. When you have your baby that is when the real worrying starts. You may have been worried about your baby while you carried him or her but that is nothing compared to the amount of fear you will feel for your baby now.
It is our responsibility as mothers to keep our sweet baby happy and safe. Worrying over your baby is normal and just because they get older does not mean it will stop. Just try to remember that your child has to live their own life and learn things by themselves but there are times they will need your help to learn. When your baby first learns to walk or crawl and you have home space heaters in your house, this is definitely a time that you have to help them learn.
This is a perfect example of how we teach them. Some things are alright for them to learn by themselves but if it will cause them harm it is our job to stop them. I know you have heard people say ‘let him touch it, he wont do it again.’ This is not a good teaching method. Why would anyone want to let their baby be hurt to learn a lesson?
When bathing our babies we use tear free shampoo and baby bath so our babies eyes don’t burn, so why not keep them from hurting any way we can? If there are space heaters in the house just remember to put them somewhere the baby can not reach. Babies grow too quickly and one day when you are storing all your baby boy bedding or your little girl clothes it will hit you just how quickly your baby became a toddler.
Spend all the time you can with your babies as possible because it is important. No mother wants to miss things in their babies life because they grow up way too fast. One day their in a crib the next day they are sleeping in a toddler bed. Even though they grow up fast you should still hire a sitter on occasion to have time to yourself. All mothers need a break and it does not make you a bad mother.
If you call your babysitter every half hour or so to check on your baby that is alright. If you are worried and need to be reassured then call. You have to remember though that just like you have to teach your baby, you are going to have to teach yourself to enjoy your alone time even if you are worrying.
Most mothers worry all the time. You just have to find a way to push the worry to the back of your brain and not to dwell on it. One day your baby will have their own babies and you will be able to see the great job raising your child that you done even though you worried all the time.
