The way of handling is very important because improper handling may result in serious problems to the baby. You may feel bit nervous while u try to hold a new born baby, u may find too odd, too floppy, the neck and head to flimsy. Picking up your baby is one of the most important steps in handling baby. You should use your hand to support the head and neck of the baby and even support its back. One hand holding its neck and head and the other one holding its back. Holding in that position carefully lift the baby and see to that the head doesn’t flop back. Then u can use your elbow to rest the head and neck of the baby. But be very care full that the head doesn’t flop back. Putting the baby down is another important thing to take care of. Hold the neck and head of the baby in one hand and its bottom with the other hand. Then lower the baby till the bed or mattress or pad takes it weight. Then remover the hand under the bottom and use the hand to lift the head so that u can remover the other hand which is below the head. Then rest the head of the baby firmly so that the baby doesn’t feel any jerk. Take care that you don’t drop the head quickly which is not advisable.
